I’m often asked, “What are the benefits of becoming a Traverus Travel Certified Travel Agent?”
The hard part is to not overwhelm the individual with too much information as I can talk forever about the benefits. However, if I had to focus on just one it would be the Traverus Member trips.
The one statement I’ve heard for years was, “Oh it’s to expensive to take vacations.” Or, “I just don’t have the money to take a ‘real’ vacation!” With the Traverus Member trips those comments are far from the truth!

On July 3rd, 2007, I joined Traverus Travel. While everyone else was recruiting I was planning and studying.
Don’t get me wrong, I will share this wonderful opportunity with people. I just wanted to achieve a goal I set for myself first and have something to show people to let them know that I am serious about this business. 
I now have in my possession the Traverus Travel Certified Travel Agent ID! You have no idea how happy I am right now. Considering I wasn’t thinking about the travel industry back in June and to have this card in my hand makes me feel good!
Let me explain why!
Whenever I decide to visit family, take a weekend getaway, plan a vacation or cruise, I can call ahead and say, “Hi! My name is Shawn and I am a travel agent with Traverus Travel do you offer travel agent rates?”
That one line can save me hundreds of dollars! Sure, I may not get the discount but now I can legitimately ask for it and show my ID as well as business card.
I was so excited that I signed up with four major car rental companies as an agent and Altantis Bahamas to name a few. I will begin taking more training to get familiar with the travel landscape.
In the next post, I will share with you the three or four areas I plan to focus on when promoting my travel business.
