Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would become a home based travel agent! All I knew was that I wanted to travel!

So, what changed?

I was introduced to an opportunity to save a ton of money when booking cruises, vacations and being able to take Fam trips (I’ll discuss that in the next post).

It’s been three weeks since I have joined and let me tell you I have been pleasantly surprised!

First, I did not realize how easy it would be to book a cruise or vacation.

Second, I did not realize the amount of discounts I could get as a home based travel agent.

Finally, I am learning so much about the travel industry and how it works. It’s really wonderful!

Two things you should know:

1. You should have a sincere interest in travel or love to travel to become a home based travel agent. Otherwise, you would be wasting your time.
2. You should love working with and helping people to have a wonderful travel experience

It is my goal to take at least four 5 to 7-day trips per year in addition to four 4-day/3-night trips. That’s not including the weekend getaways and discounts I will receive if I wanted to spend a night on the town in New York City and use my Travel Agent ID to get discounts on $300 a night rooms.

Look, I don’t expect you to believe what I’m telling you. Go and call the most expensive hotel in your city and ask for their Travel Agent Rates.

After missing out on the Mexico Cruise on Carnival Fantasy, I wanted to redeem myself and was hoping additional trips would be added to the members trip section.

I was very happy to see two trips added and I am deciding within the next two weeks which one I will take. They were a trip to Jamaica Runaway Bay and Cabo San Lucas.

Maybe you would like to help me make up my mind. Let me know which one you would pick and why by posting a comment.

At this time, I am leaning toward the Jamaica trip but I would really like to visit Mexico. I will keep you posted and look forward to reading your comments.
